ELIGIBILITY: Open to legal residents of the U.S., except Puerto Rico, who are 18 years of age or older on date of entry. Employees of JVC Americas Corp, Inc., Fender Guitars, Fender Clothing, Rock And Roll Religion, The Key Club, Spin Magazine and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents ("Sponsor and its agents") and members of the immediate family and persons living in the same household of each are ineligible.
HOW TO ENTER: Upload a video (not to exceed four (4) minutes) of your car stereoke performance at www.carstereoke.com and complete the entry form information including your name, address, and telephone number and email address. Contest timing – July 9th, 2008 to December 31st, 2008. Entries must be uploaded by September 30th, 2008. Enter as often as you wish but each entry must be different. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, mutilated, incomplete or misdirected entries. Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. One prize per entrant.
JUDGING: All video entries will be judged in a two-stage process. During the first stage, the top 25 car stereoke videos with the most visitor views will move to stage2 judging. During the second stage the top 25 videos will be submitted to a panel of music industry experts that will rate each video from 1 to 10 (best) on three dimensions: (a) musical performance; (b) overall entertainment value and;(c) creativity. The decisions of the judges are final and binding on all matters relating to the Contest. Each winner will be notified by telephone, email or certified mail and will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release from Liability, which must be received by Sponsor within seven (7) days of the date of notification or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. Return of any prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.
PRIZES: 1 Grand Prize: 1 Trip for Two (2) to Los Angeles, California for two nights and three days including economy airfare from nearest major airport, deluxe hotel accommodation, shuttle transportation to and from Fender Clothing Styling at Rock and Roll Religion, shuttle transportation to and from airport to hotel, shuttle to and from The Key Club to perform on stage at the Key Club. GENERAL: Travel must be taken on the dates of the Key Club Event in October 2008. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Contest is governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to its conflict of laws principles, with venue in Orange County, California and all claims must be resolved in the courts of Orange County, California. By entering, entrants agree: (1) TO RELEASE SPONSOR AND ITS AGENTS FROM ALL LIABILITY, LOSS OR DAMAGE ARISING OUT OF THEIR PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST AND WITH RESPECT TO THE AWARDING, RECEIPT, ACCEPTANCE, USE AND/OR MISUSE OF THE PRIZES; (2) to be bound by the Official Rules; (3) that the decisions of the judge are final and binding on all matters relating to the Contest; (4) to be contacted by Sponsor by e-mail and/or telephone and/or mail; and (5) if selected as a winner, to the use of his/her name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes in all media worldwide (including online) without additional compensation, except if a resident of TN and where otherwise prohibited by law. AS A CONDITION OF PARTICIPATING, ENTRANT AGREES THAT A) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL ENTRANT BE PERMITTED TO OBTAIN AWARDS FOR, AND ENTRANT HEREBY WAIVES ALL RIGHTS TO CLAIM PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR ANY OTHER DAMAGES, OTHER THAN FOR ACTUAL OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES, IF ANY, AND B) ALL CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR CONNECTED WITH THIS CONTEST, OR ANY COMPENSATION OR CREDIT TO BE PROVIDED, SHALL BE RESOLVED INDIVIDUALLY, WITHOUT RESORT TO ANY FORM OF CLASS ACTION; AND C) ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, JUDGMENTS, AND AWARD SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL OUT OF POCKET COSTS INCURRED, IF ANY, BUT IN NO EVENT ATTORNEYS’ FEES. Winners are responsible for all federal, state and local taxes. All winners of prizes valued at $600 or more will be issued 1099 tax forms for the ARV of their prizes.
